Tip 30: Plant Your Feet

The warm welcome of spring invites us outside to walk, play, garden, party or adventure. It’s Spring—time to plant. Take a moment to plant your feet. Be. Where. You. Are.

  • Take off your shoes, find a comfortable spot, close your eyes, and feel your feet in the grass (you can do this anywhere)
  • Roll your feet from side to side
  • Go up on your toes
  • Rock back onto your heels
  • Once again, rock from side to side
  • Wiggle your toes and relax them several times
  • Allow as much of your foot as possible to touch the ground, and rest there
  • Imagine your feet becoming broader and wider
  • Slowly bring your arms up and take a deep breath
  • Imagine roots growing from your feet down into the Earth
  • Notice that your body feels stronger as energy rises up from your feet
  • Take pride in your strength as you anchor yourself to the energy in the Earth
